I went to the Google Webmasters site and figured out why, why, why? I just realized that all my domains are under one folder which is public_html which is the root folder of my one particular domain. So the other domain’s path would be like public_html/blogaddict.info or public_html/blogosphere.com.ph, etc.  Too bad though that I already submitted for google crawling that domain which as the public_html/ folder. Everytime I updated my other sites the one which is being recognized by google to be updating is the main domain. If you are knowledged of Google’s policy about duplicated content, you’ll get what happens to the others–they are penalized by google for duplicated content so they wouldn’t be showing up. The only idea I could think is to place a robots.txt on the main folder that disallows any search engine to crawl its content.

I checked on the result the next day. Although Google did not crawl the contents of public_html, it still did not crawl the other sites.  I realized that I might have chosen during wordpress installation to disallow search engine from crawling them. Wordpress automatically creates a virtual noindex to all links robots.txt. The solution I came up with was to create robots files which do the otherwise and xml sitemaps. I hope these step will work. Check out blogaddict.info’s robots.txt and sitemap.xml

Trick number one: Search Engine MP3 Hack code. Normally what people do is to type in  “free mp3 download” in the search field which pulls up several results that says that they provide users with free mp3 download only to end up downloading incomplete audios, registering to earn points to get mp3s for free, or the plain “pay for it.” Sadly, that’s the reality –webmasters are so wise and intelligent. Here is a simple code that works fairly: “index of/” “audio name” .mp3 where audio name is replaced by the actual title. This allows you to easily pull up web folders with direct download. It looks the same like an ftp url. Just be aware though that some websites have taken advantage of this hack. Their webpage would look as if you were viewing a FTP url with matching .mp3 file extension but when you click on the link you’d only end up just listening to it and feed with popups and popunders.

Trick number two: The Esnips hack. With esnips, you can have 5 Gigabye of free online storage space. Not every file though are dowloadable especially those mp3s. What a  sad reality. But did you know that when you stream those files, you are also actually downloading them? But where do they go. Every browser has this folder called Temporary Internet Files (folder name may vary) where all the webpages you’ve visited including the pictures, the javascripts, and yes, those lovely musics are stored. In Internet Explorer  (if you have windows XP) the path is C:\Documents and Settings\Admin\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files.

So what’s the trick?  Once you have finished streaming something from esnips, go and check that folder, arrange them according to file types and look for audio icons. For esnips, the file name is file88 –usually. Copy that file to a regular folder and you will notice that that was the music you were listening. Now go back to the temporary internet files folder, right click on that file88 and hit properties. You will see there the direct url of the file.  But you don’t want to this process all the time. But I don’t also want to give everything out so study the following:

Trick number three: Sitting pretty. While the tricks mentioned above are helpful, there’s is a much easier way to get mp3s for free. You see, I’ve been so addicted to testing nulled scripts that I accidentally stumbled upon some of the websites that automatically do the trick of getting the mp3 download link for you. These websites don’t host the audio files. And if what they do are legal or not, you better answer it yourself.

So here they are:

• http://www.x10media.com/mp3/ (This is the demo link for x10media mp3 search script which may already be used by some websites. Take not that this requires registration.)
• http://musicbiatch.com/  (No registration required but downloading mp3 from esnips may require you to be logged in to it.)
• http://attmp3.com/ (This is the main site for attmp3 script which is demo site itself. You may want to register but you can still download the files without doing so. I tested it myself.)

A Game for My Brother

It was a prickly hot Saturday. I was supposed to be at home, enjoying my weekend. Or in the mall, busy strolling around while cooling myself down. But here I was, standing inside the diamond, holding firmly but nervously the baseball bat in my hands, and hoping that in my third try, I could hit the baseball somehow, even if just hitting it.

I focused my attention at the pitcher—on his moves, on his hands and on the baseball he was holding. And as he prepared to throw the ball, I positioned the bat in the right angle and readied myself.

“What an unlucky day!” I yelled.

Unluckily, I missed it again. The game was just a practice, though. But I knew that everybody took what I said as an excuse. Well, I admit, I’m a lousy player and because of this lousiness, playing in the game made my days calvarious. If it only weren’t required and compulsory to pass my PE class then I wouldn’t have to get through that situation. I wouldn’t have to make excuses.

I sat on one of the bleachers lined along the metal fence, feeling embarrassed of my performance for the last two months. I was sweating so I took out a hand towel from my backpack and dried my sweat. Then I drank from bottled water my mom gave me before I left home. For a while, I reflected on my situation and started asking myself—”What’s wrong with you?” “Why can’t you do it well?” “Why can’t you do it the same way John did?”

The last question made me remember my brother John. He was a former MVP of their baseball team but had to stop playing because he had lost his sight. A bottle containing chemicals used in developing photos was accidentally spilled over his eyes.

John and I, although five years in age gap, were more than just brothers. We were best of friends since childhood. Our father died when I was five; from then on, he stood as both an older brother and a father to me. A year before he got blind, I contracted dengue fever which made me severely ill. He spent most of his time in the hospital, watching over me. When the doctor found out that our blood types matched, John didn’t hesitate to donate his blood. Even though blind, he was always ready to support me.

That night, I talked to him. I told him about my problem. I thought he would be embarrassed of me but his reaction simply proved that he was really my bestfriend. He told me that he, also, had been through the same stage before he became an MVP. “And do you know what Napoleon Hill said? Effort only fully releases its reward after a person refuses to quit. So don’t quit. Trust yourself. There’s always a chance,” he said.

Three weeks later, something I didn’t expect and would never want to expect happened. We were in a coffee shop when the cops had an encounter with bank robbers. I heard a shot of a gun then another one and another one. People panicked. Too late, John was critically hit near his heart. He blocked the strayed bullet that was supposed to be mine (he may be blind but his sense of hearing functioned well). I took out my mobile phone from my pocket and called an ambulance.

As we head to the hospital, tears started to spring from my eyes. I couldn’t help myself but to cry. But crying didn’t do anything to make him well. John died, but before he went into the light, he told me these words: “Make sure that your life is worth saving.”

It was already in the interclass meet. I could hear the spectators’ voice, shouting for their respective bets, and I was again standing inside the diamond. It was, once more, my turn to hit the ball. But this time, it was different. I could feel the adrenaline rushing into my nerves. My shoulders squared and relaxed. My body in the best position. And the bat accurately angled as my hands firmly held it. I’d never felt the same confidence before.

The pitcher threw the ball, and in a swing of my arms, I’d hit it to a home run. At last, I did it.

At the end of the game one of my teammates asked me, “How did you play so well?” And I replied, “This is the first time my brother watches me play.”

A Wednesday. A day-off. My last Wednesday day-off before the schedule with a both  co-agent and a teammate takes effect. I usually go to the mall on this Day. Nope, I’m not there for clothes; I’m there to shoplift. I mean, for grocery. Inside, I noticed that most mallers were wearing yellow. Maybe because it was their way of showing of being one with the other Filipinos who were mourning for the loss Cory Aquino who died recently. And I thought this would be a yellow day. Or so I did.

My sister and I went directly to the supermarket. We saw fliers telling that this day was an MOB or My Own Bag day which I didn’t know what it meant. And as usual, we took advantage of the “free taste” available although this time it was only coffee. There was another one available but only for adults. I’m still young. When were in line at the cashier’s area, we noticed that there was some sort of “heat” going on (please don’t take it literally; there was no fire). A shopper was complaining why plastic bags are not being used to pack groceries or if they wanted to have some, why did they have to pay for it. I realized… MY OWN BAG.  So that’s what it meant. Plastic bags would not be available; only paper ones. If you have a green bag with you handy,that’s what you can use it. I had no choice to purchase some of those green bags when it was already my turn to pay. It would not be a good idea to place all the canned goods I bought inside a paper bag. Besides, the weather was threatening. I had nothing against buying some green bags because I knew that I could still use them in the future. What made me wonder was why I had to pay for those green thingies when they were sponsored by some big manufacturers. Why? Thanks for my sister for telling that they might doing it for charities.

After paying, we joined SM’s signature campaign to protect nature. Why not?

If there’s something that can make image manipulation easier and instantly  without having to pay or download and install a software, then I’ll go for it. Luckily, there  is. I mean, there are. And they’re available online like  photofunia.com. Earlier, I was browsing the photos of my friendster friends and as usual the shots are poses for a fashion magazine. I actually viewed the photos last year but to my desire of finding out how to make those magazine style photo effects, I viewed them again and then I found the word photo funia on the picture. And that’s it. I tried to type in photofunia.com in my browser’s address bar hoping that it existed.  It did (as I told).

I uploaded some of my pictures and played on them. Here are some of the results of the wonders of the site’s technology (please be patient while the images load):

The Flutist tells the story of a boy who, at the start, didn’t like music that much but after hearing a a flute piece from a music opera he began to love music more than he ever thought of. This story does not concern himself alone but also of his younger brother and his family.  Originally, its title was Debris and Dust which didn’t sound good to me so I changed it to The Flutist. I wrote this during my third year in our school paper The Anthonian. This was included (as always ) in the first release for that school year. Lfe is such a joke;
However, not the kind you can easily laugh at.
They say that there are things that happen when least expected. And so if they ever come, they will have a great impact on your life. It could be tough and painful. You would feel that, as if, the universe has conspired against you and you could do nothing but to catch the hellfire of them.
I guess they’re right. I guess I was feeling the same way right now.
